Position Overview: 

RealNetworks is seeking an Applied Research Scientist to support KONTXT team at our office in Zagreb. This position is hybrid, and we can only accept applications from candidates with residence in or close to Zagreb. We are looking for candidates with various degrees of experience in these skills.

Your responsibilities:

• ML/DL model research and development
• Defining data & processing needs/requirements for your models
• Developing deployable versions of models & other DS solutions
• Deploying/Integrating your solutions with other system components
• Presenting your solutions & analyses to the product team and various other stakeholders
   

Qualifications:

• Degree in computer science, software/computer engineering, math or related field
• Advanced Math and Statistics skills (linear algebra, calculus, statistics, ...)
• Strong analytical skills related to working on novel problems, researching existing  solutions and novel published methods. 
• Experience with Python and using Python-based Data Science tools including:
  • Deep Learning libraries (TensorFlow and/or PyTorch)
  • Machine Learning libraries (SciKit-Learn, …) 
  • Data manipulation libraries (Numpy, Pandas, …)
• Experience with NLP Python-based tools like Spacy, NLTK
• Experience with SQL
• Familiarity with command-line tools and Linux environment
   

Nice to have, but not required skills:

• Experience with responsibility for models deployed in production
• Experience with Apache Airflow, Docker and AWS
• Computer vision knowledge in regard to image classification, similarity and OCR
• Experience working with transformer-based models (Huggingface and/or Fairseq)
• Work on scientific and/or commercial NLP projects (an additional plus is work on speech projects)
• Publications at peer-reviewed ML/NLP conferences
• Cybersecurity knowledge
• Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or related technical fields
